when does the war end. where does it start. is it determined by a body-count?
by liquid fear that seeps into bones? is it determined by the attention we are willing
to lend it (but briefly). can one assess it through politics (and its continuation via other means, as they used to say; and still do). where does it start. is it when the rotting corpse is no longer a spectacle? when the trash and the flesh lie next to each other? where does it start. this seems no longer a question. when does it end?
